My favorite battleship in the game, Roma represents a fantastic design and a true 'fast battleship'. Her superb agility, speed, and gun handling allow her to seize advantageous positions, react to new threats, and brawl with gusto. Heavily armored, she can be made nigh-invulnerable to incoming AP with proper angling and shatter incoming HE rounds from medium-caliber guns off her exceptionally thick deck plating. Offensively she is no less impressive; nine high-velocity 15" guns allow her to rip through targets with crushing AP salvos, or loft volleys of HE at small, highly maneuverable targets at range with minimal adjustments for flight time. Her secondary battery is nothing special, with her large 152mm guns hampered by their AP ammunition, but the 90mm batteries are numerous and can ignite fires relatively often in a brawl. In exchange for all these strengths one must contend with a very large and exposed citadel, but map awareness, positioning, and angling will guarantee that it is Roma who proves stubbornly defiant in the face of stiff odds. A Littorio-class battleship. She carried powerful main battery guns for a ship of her size, was protected by reliable side armor, and had good torpedo protection. However, the ship did not have good AA capabilities to efficiently counteract airstrikes.
