This ship is... there isn't a good way to put it, its awful at long range, so it's best to use it close up, to be more specific, under 10km. To do that you need the AL Graf Spee commander, Gunichi Mikawa, and Jerzi Swirski.
might change punch through for light fortress for more survivability needs more testing. aiming for good mobility with fast turret traverse to stay on target and good reload.
I plan to make this my new build on Alaska. Getting the reload down may make her a very lethal weapon. Mikawa may be handy for concealment too if Madden doesn’t feel worth it.
this is the same as the other build, but it focuses more on the concealment aspect and not as much on health.
(NOTE): I don't have Jean Bart, so don't take this build seriously , if you do decide to take this build it would be good to have a radar cruiser, or a dd next to you for support, because this is a speed, secondary build. (NOTE 2): AL Dunkerque is the commander because of the farsight legendary perk which allows you to tank more torps when you do run into a dd, this is why you need an support ship, (preferably in a division).
You can also change the third skill to Punch Through, and Change the first skill to Beyond Range if you like those skills better. EoP is not as good on Penns due to the slower firing guns, and thus is better with longer range.
This Flint build mainly utilizes the High-DPM that it can spit out. So, using that fact, it frees up the first mod slot. Thus, It can be filled with AA mod. 1 to take care of carriers. The long-range torpedoes that Flint has also make it better suited to take down close-range BBs and cruisers while keeping yourself undetected.
I would say any changes to fit your playstyle should mainly be the first and legendary perks, as Otto Ciliax helps with those pesky cruisers. In terms of the 4th modification slot, the Secondaries on Massa are already quite fast (not to mention using Artillery Plotting frees up that second inspiration slot that cunningham so commonly fills).
Dallas is able to have the AA mod thanks to its high rate of fire. Moreover, the second inspiration can be changed to fit your playstyle.
I'm board, and I have nothing better to do... also,#Worcester better than gearing.
Same build as "Post Buff Bismarck" just with brawler instead of flammable cannoneer. With lower range you no longer need an accuracy buff with Cunningham, rather I got for lowest reload possible and use Paolo Di Revel.
Stay back and wait for enemy destroyers start to cap then go in for the kill. Rapid fire guns with great turret rotation speed means your sailing Rambo in boat form. Works even better paired with a friendly Destroyer of Carrier to spot targets.
Azuma is a vessel singularly focused on stealthily hunting targets. Use its speed and concealment to sneak up on unsuspecting targets, preferably while humming the Jaws theme. Like the infamous Great White, strike suddenly with its powerful broadside of nine 310mm guns. If you don't delete the target outright, use your armor and massive HP pool to outfight and finish them off. A very strong AA battery helps to ward off carrier attacks, and if the opportunity presents itself then you are a highly effective carrier hunter, though quite often you will be more useful when hunting cruisers and harassing enemy battleships. Unfortunately, its strengths are also its weaknesses. Despite having good speed, concealment, and hydro, Azuma is too big and unwieldy both in maneuverability and reload to effectively hunt enemy destroyers. By that same token, its armor renders it incredibly vulnerable to enemy battleships, especially those with 406mm and higher caliber guns that can overpenetrate your bow. Remain at range and engage both targets with your powerful HE, which can chunk out HP and set fires quite effectively, though your slow reload further hampers your effectiveness in sustained battles. Do not be afraid to disengage, repair damage, and relocate to an advantageous new position. Like the Great White, you must strike surgically, and disappear swiftly. Remain unpredictable and terrifying to your opponents while helping take pressure off your allies.
Wichita is hated by all because of its ability to perform well in any situation. With that in mind, using the traditional approach to U.S cruisers and building entirely for firepower is a waste of potential. Building not only into firepower, but also emphasizing maneuverability, survivability, and utility with Kinkaid gives you a much more capable platform that truly excels no matter the mission.
Having the shells go where you aim them makes it easier to dev strike the enemy before they can shoot at you.
This the build I've been use for my Lexington. Use air group mod 2 for your second slot, Raizo and fishy are to make your torpedo bombers better.
This build is simply to body people form over 19km away at T5 cuz that's balanz'd and nobody realizes it. Is it practical? yes. Is it funny? yes. Will your team rage at you? without a doubt.
No its not full secondary and no its not accuracy... it's actually going to do what it's suppose to do and lead blue cruisers and delete red cruisers. Yes everyone will focus you and yes you're gonna have 918373 fires at once but just stay within 8 or 10 km and let secondary chip the agile cruisers and if you see a mistake then drop the hammer on em don't be afraid just be smart
Use reload booster, Get close but not too close (10-14 km) delete cruisers for your dds, set fires on enemy bbs and constantly switch your position and use stealth for suprise attacks don't take bbs straight on and when shooting get as much attention as possible then disengage and repeat heal when needed
Take advantage of being able to get closer with slightly more stealth and take damage for your team. If cruisers show up you know what to do if you're playing this beast of a ship... get near or behind your dds even if they are bad it just benefits you!
This is the build I've been use for my Lexington. In mod slot 2 use air group mod 2, Raizo and Fishy for better torpedo planes.
For people wanting to use Lexington, this is my personal upgrades and skills for her.
A build focused on buffing her repair parties and decreasing fire damage as much as possible while retaining a good fighting ability
Absolutely ridiculous AP damage output. I have Arthas at 15 L2 with a 15 L2 Madden and 11 L1 von Essen. At these levels, with catapult up, I can do 20,424 per shell, and with the catapult fighter and Running with Scissors active, I can do 22,977. Just incredibly silly lol
(note):the fourth is supposed to be look at me now, but you cant do that for some reason right now. (note 2): also please take note I DON'T own this ship yet, so don't get mad if it doesn't work like I hope that it will. this build is not recommended if you want to mainly focus on the planes, but this build is a partial secondary build to annoy any dd that tries to get to close to you by showing them the way away from you with secondary guns.
This could prove to be entertaining...would help if I actually possessed Exeter.
My favorite battleship in the game, Roma represents a fantastic design and a true 'fast battleship'. Her superb agility, speed, and gun handling allow her to seize advantageous positions, react to new threats, and brawl with gusto. Heavily armored, she can be made nigh-invulnerable to incoming AP with proper angling and shatter incoming HE rounds from medium-caliber guns off her exceptionally thick deck plating. Offensively she is no less impressive; nine high-velocity 15" guns allow her to rip through targets with crushing AP salvos, or loft volleys of HE at small, highly maneuverable targets at range with minimal adjustments for flight time. Her secondary battery is nothing special, with her large 152mm guns hampered by their AP ammunition, but the 90mm batteries are numerous and can ignite fires relatively often in a brawl. In exchange for all these strengths one must contend with a very large and exposed citadel, but map awareness, positioning, and angling will guarantee that it is Roma who proves stubbornly defiant in the face of stiff odds. Cogliere il mare!
Similarly to the previous build, this is purely me just goofing around and trying to decide how I'll build this beast out when I finally buy her. This configuration will focus more on playing like a giant cruiser than a sniping BB.
Shoot fast while getting close to enemy then do a quick turn to torp and continue firing.
Has higher concealment and lower torp range, so more stealthy. Same strategy, surprise enemy with torps and then finish him, with smoke if necessary.
Get range of torps over concealment to surprise enemy then set a smoke screen and finish him!
Mostly investing in AP, 3k salvos into angling BBs is really nice. Also, if You see that Your AP are not performing the best, switch to HE, Your high chance to set on fire will allow You to annoy enemies. You can bow-tank <15' guns (<381mm), so don't worry to expose Yourself unless You face >16' guns (>406mm). You can use this build on Baltimore, Alaska
Sick of the every day t7 5 sniping BB per team snooze fest? We All Are! So bring on this Z-23 gun boating build to spice things up in t7! Quickly capture target areas and Slaughter all enemy dds that challenge you like Hells Bells. Then open the gates of hell upon sniping red BBs and spam them with your rounds of Hell Fire until the lazy sniping BBs Uninstall The Game For Good! Make life miserable for the huge Noob BB population and send them to Reddit whining about "DDs to OP". #F**k boring t7 game play. #Good ol' savage GUN BOATING. #Stop camping BBs and Git GOoOD!!! P.S. Swirski, Sims, and Burke's inspirations also could work well with this build, feel free to experiment with their inspirations and others.
I find Gangut a lot more worthy of the name of a battleship with ths build.
Torp visibility so low they'll never see em coming, makes them beyond hard to dodge
this is the build that I am currently running on my flint, but if you want even higher concealment, you can take off Phillip and add jerzy.
if you want more hp put hyde in francescos place, or sims if you don't have hyde. But if you want more torp range, put gleaves in francescos place. As for Gunichi Mikawa leave him as a inspiration you want to have at least a little concealment to surprise someone.
