A new generation light cruiser designed to serve as a scout both within a squadron and independently. In contrast to her predecessors, the ship's main advantage was that her main guns were placed in gun turrets. The ship also had stronger AA defenses and better armor protection.
Submit Base XP EntryThe first dreadnought ship in the world to carry 343mm main guns, she was superior to all battleships built before her in terms of firepower. Besides this, in contrast to her British predecessors, the ship had reinforced side armor and a more advanced arrangement of artillery guns.
Submit Damage EntryEach month, WoWS Builds hosts a competition that challenges you to put up big numbers. Two ships are selected, one for Damage, one for Base XP. Score highest in each ship, and you'll get rewarded with some excellent prizes.
Apparently, the Royal Navy had a fascination with Greek Mythology, and named quite a few ships after characters from myths and legends.
Orion was the son of Poseidon and possessed the ability to walk on water, and was a skilled hunter. In Legends, Orion represents the WWI Dreadnought of the same name. She is the first tech tree British battleship you'll encounter and comes with adequate armor and gunnery. Rack up damage and see if you can beat the current record of 142,190.
Leander is a character in the Myth of Hero and Leander. If you are familiar with the story of Romeo and Juliet, then you are familiar with the story of Hero and Leander. Spoiler alert, they both die. Hopefully your efforts in Tier Five cruiser, Leander, will prove more fruitful. Leander is a sailing citadel, but comes equipped with good guns, smoke and torpedos. Plenty to deny areas, defend caps, and rack up a big Base XP score for this month's competition.
