DescriptionI don’t really buy event Commanders so this has always and at least for now will remain my main Dunkerque build, I don’t aim to make THE best build for her performance when sniping, I simply find this works best for me out of the builds I have tried. Cunningham keeps your shells (mostly) on target even when you’re at the max firing range. Revel could be exchanged for Madden depending on who you have ranked higher (I used Madden myself until recently). I feel Madden doesn’t lose much over Revel just the secondary battery bonus doesn’t really matter on this ship so why not get a bit of extra reload time reduction with Revel! I often start matches, even top tier, reversing just a bit, I like to use this build for early picks on ships making their way into positions thanks to the extensive firing range, I will creep forward as my team needs me, which propulsion mod helps with. I do often watch for flanking as these are the Dunkerque’s biggest vulnerability, your bow is good enough to tank at the longer ranges and “Not the One for Nuisance” will help with fire damage or flooding if there’s a carrier launching torpedo runs. Good to just play patient with this build, you’re often going to get the best results as a second-line ship, whilst some players you encounter may hope for a battleship to be pushing, I find with Dunkerque you’ll have some issues making that work in your favour (it’s a case-by-case basis though). This build does work well enough when you need to get stuck in, with great AP damage and Penetration you will have plenty of chunky salvos along with the still workable mobility even with “Marksmanship” and “Gyrating Drillbits” taking effect. I don’t really like using Meglomania on this ship, you lose enough survivability to impact how aggressive you can be, that -5% health means a lot in a relatively weak Battleship, someone plugging your side with holes will be much more impactful on your game even if it seems like a pretty small sacrifice of max HP. I just thought I’d share the build I use when running my absolute favourite ship in the game! Hope it bears fruit for those willing to give it a try, I wish you fair seas Commanders!
